Theodolite Data Recording System

This system was designed to allow the operator of the theodolite to continuously track a target, such as a balloon, and have azimuth and elevation readings automatically recorded. This system can be operated by one man and eliminates operator reading and recording errors. The operator can concentrate on tracking the target and does not have to stop to take readings or take time to reacquire a lost sighting. The Data Recorder can be set to take angular and time readings at various time intervals from 1 second to 99 seconds or greater if needed. The readings can be recorded on the paper tape print out or stored for downloading into a computer through an RS232 port. The system is battery operated for ease of operation in remote locations.
