Specifications

Theodolite Automatic Tracking System The Theodolite Automatic Tracking System was designed to provide an error-free means to track any aircraft. The system eliminates the need for an observer to manually track a target, such as an aircraft, by automatically tracking a light mounted on the target. The large scope mounted on top of the standard optical telescope, is a light sensor that picks up the strongest light source in its view and sends information to the motor drives on the instrument to maintain the light source in the center of the sensing scope. The sensing scope is mounted in alignment with the main optical telescope which is used to allow the operator to manually acquire the light source target. After the system is manually aimed at the light target the automatic tracking mode is activated. Cameras or light sensors for specific frequencies can also be integrated into the system depending upon the application.
