Specifications

This system was designed to allow the operator of the theodolite to continuously track a target, such as a balloon, and have azimuth and elevation readings automatically recorded. This system can be operated by one man and eliminates operator reading and recording errors. The operator can concentrate on tracking the target and does not have to stop to take readings or take time to reacquire a lost sighting. The Data Recorder can be set to take angular and time readings at various time intervals from 1 second to 99 seconds or greater if needed. The readings can be recorded on the paper tape print out or stored for downloading into a computer through an RS 232 port. The system is battery operated for ease of operation in remote locations.

Specifications

Tracking, recording and calculating angular data to .01 degrees or better is a fast and accurate one-man operation with the Warren-Knight Data Recording Theodolite. Tied into your computer by RS232 or the DAC II, this system eliminates operator error by automatically recording, time, azimuth, and elevation angle information of targets on the ground, water or in flight in reference to a fixed ground position. A second theodolite can be incorporated into the system for precise measurement by triangulation. This information is used to: determine the coordinates of a structure under construction or being aligned, such as a radar dish, or provide the position of a ship for dredging operations, track weather balloons to determine wind speed and direction in the upper atmosphere, or calibrate aircraft navigational aids such as ILS, MLS, VOR and TACAN. The information can be printed out or stored and processed later if desired. Individual application software can be provided for your requirement, i.e. a wind speed and direction program.
