Specifications

Vertical Transit Model #10-0701A-VT This instrument is designed to provide a means to independently establish the sighting and pointing accuracy of an automatic tracking or other radar systems. This is accomplished by tracking an aircraft over the transit sight with the transit and the radar system simultaneously. The transit determines the actual fly-over path of the aircraft which is compared with the path position information provided by the radar system. If any differences appear, then the radar system is adjusted to coincide with the coordinates determined by the vertical transit. This instrument has a right angle telescope to allow the observer to track a target as it passes overhead. The telescope to allow the observer to track a target as it passes overhead. The telescope has an erect image, magnification of 8X and field of view of 8 degrees and 45 minutes. The reticle is photo etched, with divisions every 5 mils, numbered every 10 mils for a total of 70 mils on each side of center both on vertical and horizontal axis. Reticle center is coincident with instrument optical axis and azimuth axis with +/-1 mil.
